Anambra youths under the aegis of United Anambra Youths Assembly (UAYA) Onitsha South L.G.A chapter have vowed to return Governor Willie Obiano for a second term in office.
This is as the youth also honoured members representing Onitsha South I Constituency Chief Patrick Aniunoh and Hon Mrs. Beverly Nkemdiche representing Onitsha south II Constituency in the Anambra State house of assembly.
Others were leader of Onitsha south Legislative Council, Hon. Emeka Akanegbu, Chief Tony Omeligwe the Anambra State Deputy Chairman of APGA and the immediate past chairman of APGA in Onitsha South L.G.A Chief Sylvester Ezeokenwa among others.
While describing the awardees as worthy ambassadors of the people, they singled out Hon Emeka Akanegbu for his unalloyed support to ensure that APGA grows in Onitsha South and for Governor Obiano second term bid was realized.
The youths, who made this statement at Godwin Achebe Mini Stadium, Fegge Onitsha South LGA yesterday, vowed to deliver Governor Willie Obiano for a second term in office saying that his performance in office so far has demonstrated that he is God sent to develop the state and appealed to citizens of the state to rally round Governor Obiano.
Earlier the youths in their address read by their chairman Mr. Chinedu Okoro traced the history of the body to in 2014 when it was formed through the efforts of comrade Chinedu Obidigwe the then special assistant to Governor Obiano on Youth mobilization who is now the Senior special assistant to the governor on Political Matters and stated that the organization was formed exclusively to address the welfare of the youths.
They described Governor Obiano as the most youth friendly governor noting that the governor has been using the UAYA as a platform to empower youths.
They intimated that because of these encouragements that they have vowed to support and encourage Governor Obiano to come out for a second term even as they thanked Gov Obiano for his outstanding achievements on security, Agriculture, road construction, infrastructures etc.
Speaking, Governor Obiano, represented by Comrade Chinedu Obidigwe, the Senior Special assistant on Political Matters to the governor thanked the youths for deeming it necessary to honor him and commended the spirit of Comradeship among APGA members in Onitsha South ,
He said was always eager to develop all sectors of the economy in Anambra State and noted that his achievements in less than two years in office has surpassed those of his predecessors adding that as a lover of youths he was always ready to encourage, motivate youths noting that about seventy percent of his appointments were youths. He urged them to support the APGA government in the state.
